Happy Monday! We were all a little sleepy today adjusting to the time change! You would think that "spring ahead" would bring a few signs of spring and the weather forecast is not looking that way! Spring pictures are scheduled for this Thursday. Please make sure to send the form in with your child if you would like pictures taken. Special notices also went home for yearbook orders and the 5th grade musical. Make sure to check your child's folder. On Monday March 17th we will be eating lunch in our classroom to celebrate "Eating Of The Greens!" Parents are welcome to attend and enjoy some of our green foods. Here is a list of what we will be having: Green Bagels, cream cheese and butter, cupcakes, grapes, apples, cucumbers and peppers with ranch dip, White grape juice. Please join us from 10:45-11:15. We are well into our informational writing unit. Next week we will begin a little research before working on our final piece. Today we held conferences about our books to make sure our writing makes sense. See pictures below! We are moving forward with our math unit on tens and ones. We will be working on writing numbers in different forms this week. Our practice with xtra math has been going very well! Everyone is making progress with their math facts. We will have a practice timed test this week to see how we are doing with our math facts to ten. In reading we have continued to work with non-fiction. We are also working on word blends, sh, ch and wh. This week we will begin to work on non-fiction retells. Looking for facts in the books we are reading and responding to the questions we have. Our stations are running beautifully. Everyone is working on their own plan and we are getting lots of practice! One of the highlights of our week is when we have time for a dance party. This is one class of awesome dancers! It is so fun to watch them all dance together and have a good time! Sorry about the limited pictures this week! I will try for more next week!
